The Cirque de Navacelles
Resulting from the river Vis' slow but relentless erosion of the limestone layers that form the Causse, the Cirque de Navacelles is a must-see in the region.
A true miniature of the American Grand Canyon, it offers a great opportunity to learn more about the geology, hydrology and history of the Cévennes plateaus.
The surroundings also include several walking trails that will give you the opportunity to enjoy the site from different angles.
In summer, we recommend you visite the site in the morning or at the end of the day when the temperatures are milder.
Close to the Cirque, the resurgence of the Vis and its La Foux mill are also worth a visit!
